SHOE TYING TIPS

- Use two different colored laces: You can cut two laces and tie them together to make two different colors.
- Use two different types of laces e.g., one round lace, one flat lace.
- Practice with the shoe in your child's lap, not on their foot. Once they master on their lap practice with shoe on their foot.
- Try using two pipe cleaners (different colors). The stiffness of the pipe cleaners doesn't automatically lose its shape if the "loop" is dropped.
- Make sure the laces are long enough. When kids are learning to tie, they need enough lace to get a good sized loop for the bow.
- Put dots on the laces to show where to hold (nail polish or marker).
